Vic: Man charged with attempted murder after police officer shot

A man has been charged with attempting to murder a police officer .. after a shooting
in Melbourne's north-west last night.

A leading senior constable suffered a superficial leg wound in a shootout in front
of a house on Meade Way in Sydenham about 10.20 (AEDT) last night.

A man is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon on a number of
charges including attempted murder.
