Fed: Govt team heads to Nauru today

An Australian government team leaves for Nauru today as refugee groups ramp up their
demands for an independent assessment of medical facilities on the tiny nation.

The official delegation, to be headed by Australian High Commissioner to Fiji and Nauru
JENNIFER RAWSON, includes two health department doctors and officials from immigration,
foreign affairs and AusAid.

They will review the situation on Nauru, which is housing more than 280 asylum seekers,
including 93 children, turned away by Australia as part of the Pacific Solution.
