Data obtained by investigating the ultimate strength and deformability of plates of expanded PS(EPS) with a density of 11 to 37 kg/m 3 under short-term shear loading according to EN 12090 are discussed. The plates were made by foaming, in a closed volume, a raw material in the form of beads. Linear regression equations were used for describing the ultimate shear strength and modulus in relation to the density of EPS.
