NSW:Decision on whether Guider faces trial on Monday

The man accused of murdering Sydney schoolgirl SAMANTHA KNIGHT will learn on Mondaywhether he will face trial.

Confessed paedophile MICHAEL ANTHONY GUIDER is charged with murdering the nine-year-oldwho disappeared from a Bondi street in 1986. Her body has never been found.

Committal hearing magistrate JANET WAHLQUIST says she'll decide on Monday whether GUIDERshould face trial.

The prosecution alleges the 51-year-old confessed that SAMANTHA died after he accidentallygave her an overdose of a drug he used to stupefy children so he could take indecent photosand sexually abuse them.

GUIDER has denied making any confessions and having anything to do with SAMANTHA's death.

His barrister has told the hearing the abduction of SAMANTHA from a street was notGUIDER's modus operandi -- as he would abuse children by befriending single mothers andoffering to babysit.
